UTCB \ Doctoral Studies \ Syllabus

The advanced university training program is organized during the first semester of the doctoral program and consists in studying three compulsory subjects (DO1 – Disciplines of complementary training, DO2 – Disciplines of general technical training and DO3 – Disciplines of specialized technical training) that provide further knowledge required for doctoral studies, as well as a unitary vision and management skills for the development of scientific research programs. In order to be useful later on, throughout the scientific research program, the disciplines are recommended by the PhD coordinator and chosen by the doctoral student. At the end of the advanced training program, the PhD student presents a Project of the Scientific Research Program. It comprises the intentions and the presumptive way of development concerning the stage of scientific research, presentation of the elective disciplines, the doctoral reports and the progresses in writing the doctoral thesis. The Project of the Scientific Research Program is defended within the department and is evaluated by a specialty board, and then submitted to the Secretary Office of the Doctoral School.
