The Ph.D supervisor in the UTCB Doctoral School may be a member of the teaching staff of UTCB, a tenured university professor or a retired university professor with a fixed-term contract of employment, who obtained the right to conduct a doctorate prior to the entry into force of the Law of National Education no. 1/2011, as well as the persons who have obtained the habilitation on the proposal of CNATDCU, having at least the position of lecturer or scientific researcher III and who are part of the university community.
The Ph.D supervisors in UTCB, having obtained the habilitation in accordance with the legal conditions in force, automatically become members of the UTCB Doctoral School, the membership being confirmed by the University Senate. Revocation of membership of the Doctoral School is made by the Council of the Doctoral School with the approval of the University Senate, in the situations mentioned in the Regulations of the Doctoral School.
By the affiliation approved by the University Senate, membership of the Doctoral School of UTCB may also be granted to people from Romania or abroad who have the qualification of Ph.D supervisor in the doctoral fields for which UTCB organizes Ph.D studies according to the law.
The right to carry out the doctoral management activity can only be achieved in the field for which this qualification has been awarded in a single doctorate institution.
The Doctoral School encourages the UTCB teaching staff to obtain the habilitation for the conduct of a doctorate in accordance with legal provisions and become members of the Doctoral School.
In the event that Ph.D supervisors with habilitation from outside UTCB wish to become members of the UTCB Doctoral School, they are asked to submit a written application to the Secretariat of the Doctoral School. At the meeting of the UTCB Senate that took place on 28 July 2015, the Doctoral Habilitation Regulation was adopted, as presented below.
