Prof. univ. dr. eng. Emeritus Iolanda Colda (1943-2023)

 

It is with deep regret that the Doctoral School of the Technical University of Constructions Bucharest announces the passing away of Prof. Prof. univ. emerit dr. eng. Emerit Iolanda Colda, an emblematic member of the academic community in the field of Plant Engineering in Romania.

Mrs. Professor Iolanda Colda, was an emblematic figure of plant engineering in Romania. With a career of more than 56 years at the Technical University of Constructions Bucharest, she was a model of excellence in pedagogy, research and professionalism.

A school founder, character builder, and creator of professionals, he has been a mentor to many generations of students, instilling in them a love of science and engineering. Throughout his career, he has been Visiting Professor at prestigious universities such as Paris7 and Paris12, and has played an active role in coordinating and supervising research and educational programs, including the Tempus ENVIROM program. Professor Colda has contributed countless scientific papers and coordinated an impressive number of research contracts during her professional career. She coordinated numerous doctoral theses, including an impressive number of cotuties with traditional French-speaking partners of the Faculty of Installations Engineering, being the initiator of the prestigious French-speaking strand and subsequently of all the French-language study programs for the specialization in Construction Installations at the Technical University of Constructions Bucharest. In this context, she developed notable collaborations with European universities, in particular with the University of La Rochelle, INSA Lyon and Rennes University1. In addition to her academic achievements, Professor Iolanda Colda was a dedicated professional, who contributed significantly to the development and implementation of the energy performance audit system for buildings in Romania.

We will always fondly remember Mrs. Professor Iolanda Colda. We express our deep respect, gratitude and consideration for her outstanding contributions to science, education and the professional life of Romanian installation engineers.
