Launch of the Internal Grants for Doctoral Students (GID) competition – 2025 -> extended deadline June 20!

Contributions to the application of performance methods for durability assessment of concrete 16.7/20p
Research on urban data acquisition, integration and modeling for a Digital Twin 16.7/20p
Seismic risk assessment with applications in insurance and reinsurance 15,3/20p
Study of thermal and tactical comfort in Romanian army tents 17/20p
Fire behavior of solar collector ventilated facade elements incorporating phase change materials 17.7/20p
Contributions to the evaluation of strength and deformation characteristics of concrete 16.7/20p
The purpose of these internal grants, awarded to doctoral students, is to provide some financial means for doctoral research, to encourage scientific publication and to participate in international conferences. This competition aims to accustom doctoral students to writing projects for research funding and to exchanging information directly with specialists at international conferences.
For GC (Research Grant) grants, under the category of service type expenses, expenses for publication in Open Source journals or for the promotion of Open Source articles are also eligible!
For GPC (Conference Participation Grant) grants, online conference participation is also accepted for funding. Participation and publication fees will be covered. Applications for GPC Grants will be considered on a rolling basis on a first come first served basis.

Launch Information Package (including number of grants and value) – May 7, 2025
1. Research Grants (RG)
Application deadline – May 30, 2025 June 20, 2025 (+3 weeks)
Publication of eligible projects – June 3, 2025 (+3 weeks)
Evaluation – June 3-8, 2025(+3 weeks)
Publication of evaluation results – June 9, 2025(+3 weeks)
Appeals – June 9-10, 2025(+3 weeks)
Analysis of appeals – June 11-12, 2025(+3 weeks)
Publication of final results after appeals – June 13, 2025(+3 weeks)
2. Conference participation grants (GPC)
Grant application submission – from May 12 – continuously, provided that the last invoice is paid by 01.10.2025
Publication of eligible projects – continuous (2 working days after receipt of application)
Evaluation – continuous
Publication of evaluation results – continuous (3 working days after declaration of eligibility)
Planned period for contracting: GC June 16-27, GPC – on a rolling basis (mandatory condition: invoice payments must be made by 01.10.2025)

All electronic attachments will be in .pdf format.
The Doctoral School Secretariat will check that the files are valid.
The file will contain:
- ANNEX 1 – grant application
- ANNEX 1 – anonymized
- ANNEX 2 – PhD supervisor agreement
- ANNEX 3 – doctoral student’s affidavit
After verification, the secretariat of the Doctoral School will send confirmation of the validity of the registration and a registration number.
