Excerpt from the Regulations of the Doctoral School – rev. 4/Nov. 2016:
Article 25. Rights and obligations of doctoral students

(2) The doctoral student can benefit from a doctoral grant, for a maximum of three years, obtained on a competitive basis, which includes the amount of the individual scholarship and the costs of the doctoral university study program. Doctoral students who benefit from doctoral grants or are financed from the state budget may be employed by UTCB as research assistants or university assistants, for a fixed period.

(3) For doctoral students in the full-time program with a scholarship, the completion of the study program must be confirmed monthly, in writing, within the first 10 days of the following month by the doctoral supervisor by signing the monthly report. If not confirmed within this period or a negative opinion from the doctoral supervisor, the scholarship will be suspended, at the proposal of the Doctoral School, by the decision of the Rector of UTCB. After more than 6 months without frequency and doctoral activity, the doctoral supervisor may propose expulsion from the doctoral program.

(5) Doctoral students enrolled in the full-time program with a scholarship are required to participate in teaching and research activities imposed by the doctoral supervisor in the amount of up to 6 conventional hours per week without pay, in exchange for the scholarship granted, respectively on an hourly payment basis if the number of conventional hours is exceeded. The teaching and research activities carried out by scholarship doctoral students represent professional obligations just like the doctoral program and generate the same responsibilities and consequences for them.

(6) Throughout the duration of the activity, the doctoral student in the full-time program benefits from the recognition of seniority in work and specialty, according to the law.

(16) Doctoral students enrolled in the full-time program with a scholarship will carry out teaching and research activities in a maximum amount of 40 physical hours per week, in accordance with legal provisions. The teaching activities carried out by doctoral students enrolled in the full-time program with a scholarship will be provided for in the staff status of the department in which they are assigned.
