we invite you on Tuesday, April 16, starting at 16:00, to Construct Fest together with the Doctoral School, in the auditorium I.2 FCCIA.

Societal challenges for the built environment: integrating sustainability and smart technologies
16:00 – 17:00 Round table with representatives of market players to highlight the importance of research topics anchored in societal needs and current issues of the built environment, in order to develop doctoral research in cooperation with the economic environment to respond to the current challenges and requirements of industry.

17:40 – 19:30 Micro-hackathon – Smart solutions applied to the urban built environment centered on user needs
We want to form 4-5 teams of 4 members each (2 PhD + 2 MSc) – first come, first served. Registrations should be made individually at ionut-bogdan.gheorghe@phd.utcb.ro and teams will be formed later.
Facilitators: drd. Bogdan Gheorghe and drd. Anca Ene, dr. Anca – Patricia Grădinaru.
A peer-to-peer mentoring exercise in which doctoral and master students are invited to form mixed teams (doctoral and master students) from different fields to foster the interdisciplinary exchange of innovative ideas and solutions. The winning team will benefit from a short-term mobility within the EU-CONEXUS alliance.
At the end of the hackathon, each team will present their proposed solution in a short pitch in front of a jury of experts and stakeholders.
The event is part of a series of actions organized by the Doctoral School of UTCB aiming, on the one hand, the introduction and gradual transition to a ” Challenge-based learning ” concept at UTCB doctoral studies, and, on the other hand, a better cooperation with the economic environment.
