IOSUD – Institution Organizing Doctoral University Studies
Doctoral university studies, referred to as doctorate, constitute the third cycle of studies offered at the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest and aim to develop knowledge through original scientific research. They allow the acquisition of a level 8 qualification from the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and the National Qualifications Framework.
Doctoral university studies are organized by IOSUD – UTCB in accordance with the National Education Law no. 1/2011, Government Decision no. 681/2011 regarding the approval of the Code of Doctoral University Studies, and the institutional regulation for the organization and conduct of doctoral university studies.
Doctoral university studies are organized only in the full-time form of education and can be financed from various sources: from the budget, from grants obtained on a competitive basis, through tuition fees, or from other sources.
Admission to the doctorate program is based on a competition held in September of each academic year. Graduates of Master’s programs or equivalent are eligible, including graduates of faculties with a duration of 5 years of university studies, from the doctoral fields accredited in UTCB but also from related fields, with the obligation to take an additional general knowledge exam. Doctoral students who are declared admitted have the obligation to sign a doctoral university studies contract.
