According to the Code of Doctoral University Studies (HG 681/2011), doctoral university studies represent the higher cycle of university studies whose purpose is to develop human resources competent in conducting scientific research, capable of integration into the highly qualified labor market. They consist of training through research for research-development and innovation and constitute a professional research experience, finalized, after the defense of the doctoral thesis, by awarding the title of Doctor.
The Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest (UTCB), as an Institution Organizing Doctoral University Studies (IOSUD) acquired based on the proposal of the National Council for Attesting University Titles, Diplomas and Certificates (CNATDCU) and the approval of the Ministry of National Education, organizes doctoral university studies in the fundamental field of ranking “Engineering Sciences”. There is only one Doctoral School within UTCB.
